NCMHCE Review Special Offer

Dear NCMHCE Candidates:

The NCMHCE is like no other exam you have encountered in graduate school. A complete understanding of the exam format, how to correctly interpret exam items, and how to navigate through the simulations are tools and skills vital to candidate success. Other programs and online simulations are expensive and prepare you by merely developing the functions of recall and recognition. However, learning key information and possessing the tools and testing skills you will need to succeed are imperative. This is the most helpful preparation workshop available for the NCMHCE exam.

We teach candidates the concepts and principles for case conceptualization and case management that are vital to success on the NCMHCE. Candidates will learn how to apply their clinical knowledge to the case vignettes, accurately interpret exam items, and navigate through the confusing exam format. This workshop was field-tested for two years and has produced a time-proven success record.

The four-hour preparation workshop will help candidates develop skills for clinical problem-solving including: identifying, analyzing, diagnosing, and treating clinical issues. A significant amount of time is spent practicing how to conceptualize the case vignettes and accurately interpret and answer ambivalent test items.

Candidates will learn …

  • What to expect on the exam…
  • Time-proven preparation strategies…
  • How to conceptualize the case vignettes…
  • How to identify, assess, diagnose and treat the clinical problem…
  • How to approach and interpret ambiguous test questions…
  • How to navigate through the exam simulations…
  • Proven ways to build confidence and reduce test anxiety.

Workshops are held at the Holiday Inn, Independence, Ohio on Friday evenings from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM EST. Registration is limited and must be received no later than 30 days prior to a selected workshop date to avoid the $40 late registration fee. Click here for current workshop dates.

The workshops are presented using PowerPoint and structured to follow the contents of The NCMHCE® Review study materials. Free amenities are available during the workshop. Lunch is not provided but restaurants are located both on and near the workshop site.

There are no refunds for the materials or workshop after shipment. However, workshop registrations may be transferred once within three months of the original workshop date. Afterward, there is a $25 transfer fee to change a workshop registration date. Transfers are conditioned upon available seating. We reserve the right to cancel or change all workshops due to insufficient enrollment, inclement weather, or illness of the presenter. Candidates will be notified by email about any changes within 21 days of a workshop date. We have never cancelled any workshops but we recommend flight cancellation insurance for out-of-state participants.

The complete preparation program includes The NCMHCE® Review study manual, the NBCC official NCMHCE study guide with five case simulation practice exams, and the four-hour workshop. The NCMHCE® Review study manual provides highly focused subject material for the domains assessed on the exam. Helpful study tips, answering strategies, and case conceptualization methods simplify preparation. Sample questions are provided at the moment of critical learning and designed to develop a counselor's analytic and case management skills while reinforcing the subject material. Answer rationales explain the sample questions so candidates learn from mistakes and develop higher-order thinking skills.
